What we do

We design, build and improve web applications: SaaS products, bespoke business systems, APIs and integrations, and SEO-focused websites. Our main tools are PHP and Laravel, and we’ve worked with Laravel since version 4.2. Along the way we’ve also worked extensively with WordPress, CakePHP, Symfony-based and completely custom PHP codebases.

We specialise in the back end — application architecture, data, APIs and integrations — with a long-standing interest in technical SEO and clean, maintainable code. When a project needs specialist design or UX, we work with trusted design agencies and freelancers.

We build and run our own products

PaidProper is built and operated by Coder Studios. It’s client management software for tradespeople, with subscriptions, team accounts, payments, integrations and a marketing site we look after ourselves. Read the PaidProper case study.

Running software ourselves changes how we build it for clients. We think about support, upgrades, failed payments, email deliverability, performance and search visibility from the start, because we deal with them every week.

Coder Studios is deliberately small. You work directly with David Wright, the founder, rather than an account manager, and the person you talk to understands both the code and the business problem behind it.
